Tobias er født og oppvokst i Kirkenes. Han har utmerket seg både nasjonalt og internasjonal som kokk hos prestisjetunge restauranter som Stallen og Michaels i Oslo og Frantzen i Stockholm. Tobias har vært 1 år på kokkelandslaget og jobber idag hos anerkjente Stattholdergaarden som drives av Bent Stiansen – Norges første vinner av Bocuse d`Or, verdensmesterskapet for kokker. 

Vi er veldig stolte av vår lokale mesterkokk og vi håper du vil være med på en lærerik og spennende helg sammen med Tobias, her på Varanger Brygge. 

About The Course

Our cookery course takes place in our newly established course kitchen and aims to give you an authentic understanding of Northern Norwegian food culture. We pride ourselves on using only fresh, local ingredients sourced directly from the nature around us. This course is an opportunity to explore and master the art of preparing delicious dishes with ingredients unique to Finnmark and Varanger.

What You Will Learn

  • You will learn how to identify and handle local North Norwegian produce.

  • Learn how to combine flavours and textures to create unforgettable meals.

  • Gain insight into cultural aspects of Northern Norwegian food. We will use dedicated chefs with a passion for sharing Northern Norwegian food heritage. We focus on small group sizes to ensure personalised attention and hands-on learning.

We believe that food is one of the best ways to explore a region, and Finnmark has a lot to offer. From the pure flavours of Arctic shellfish and fish, to the delicate nuances of game meat, local brews, berries and vegetables, you'll discover treasures unique to this area.
